We visit several websites everyday and each and everyone of them has a Contact Us link. Ever wonder why it’s there?
Well actually it’s supposed to generate business for your company by allowing customers to directly connect with you. It’s one way through which your customers can inquire about your services. Not only does it serve as a medium for inquiry, it also helps you get feedback from your customers. On Pakistani websites however, it seems that the Contact Us link is merely there because it’s there on every other website on the internet. This is not just the case with small websites, it’s a problem with websites ranging from those of big newspapers to software companies (surprised to see neglect on their part) to those of government organizations.
During the course of the past week and a half, I’ve sent emails to a site (through their Contact Us link) belonging to each one of the above mentioned categories and have failed to elicit a response. Now, it could well be because the functionality behind the link doesn’t work or perhaps, the business owners just don’t care what their customers are saying. Either ways, my advice to all website owners in Pakistan: if you have a Contact Us link on your website, please care to check that it’s working. If not, then fix it. If yes, then take a little time out to check what your customers/visitors are saying. If you don’t care about your customers, well then you really have to set your priorities right!
